The Heritage Network meets for its annual General Assembly at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
On June 1st and 2nd, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid welcomed the 6th Heritage General Assembly on Boadilla Campus, in Madrid.

The GA was kicked off by
H.E. Mr. Dinesh K. Patnaik, Indian Ambassador to Spain Prof. Guillermo Cisneros, UPM Rector, and Prof. Raghunathan Rengaswamy, Dean, Global Engagement at IIT Madras and President of the Heritage Network since 2021.
Organized every year alternatively in Europe and India, this General Assembly was the occasion for its participants to think together about a theme of priority: “
Sustainability
”. The participants could attend and present
conferences
revolving around this theme, for some of them applied to their theme of research, for others about current
practices
adopted by their University in this direction. The different presentations are available on

During the annual General Assembly, several decisions about the network overall management are also taken. In 2023, those consisted in:
Election of TU Dublin
as 30th member of the Heritage Network, see full list of members on

Nomination of IIT Roorkee
as host of the 2024 General Assembly
Election of 3 new SEC members (2 Indian representatives, 1 European representative), see list of current SEC members and information about the network governance on

.
The HERITAGE NETWORK aims to
strengthen Higher Education Cooperation
(in research and education) between Europe and India in the field of Engineering Sciences. There are now 16 Indian and 14 European members who aim, as a network to:
Develop academic and research exchanges between partner institutions, and foster high level educational programmes in Engineering, Sciences, Design and Technology between Europe and India
Organize yearly workshops on scientific and technical topics of mutual interest
Be a reference for the European and Indian governments and gain influence in higher education and research cooperation internationalization policies
Maintain strong relationships and fruitful partnerships among the members
