#3 Heritage Webinar Series | Vibration monitoring and diagnostics - Whole-body vibration perception (TU Dresden, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad)

The Heritage Webinar Series aims to raise awareness of member institution research facilities and projects to foster cooperation and promote joint India-EU research projects.

For this edition, the 3 hosting faculty,  Prof. Ercan Altinsoy (Technische Universität Dresden), Prof. Somnath Chattopadhyaha and Dr. L.A. Kumaraswamidhas (IIT ISM Dhanbad) will present the research facilities and ongoing research projects at their respective institutions related to the themes "Vibration monitoring and diagnostics - Whole-body vibration perception".

Both institutions have been working in these fields for more than twenty years and have conducted several research studies which were published in highly acknowledged journals and conferences. Several PhD theses were conducted in these fields already.

TU Dresden and IIT (ISM) Dhanbad have strong cooperation in PhD co-supervision (already 4 PhDs). They have conducted a joint research and prepared a joint paper on "Impact Assessment of Whole Body Vibration and Physiological Stress Factors on Dumper Operator", one of the topics that will be covered during the webinar.

Webinar structure:

  • Introduction by Prof. Raghunathan Rengaswamy, President of the Heritage Network
  • Presentation by Prof. Ercan Altinsoy, TU Dresden (20 minutes)
  • Presentation by Prof. Somnath Chattopadhyaya and Prof. L.A. Kumaraswamidhas (20 minutes)
  • 20-minute Q&A session and discussion with all participants

  Members of the Heritage Network, faculty, researchers or PhD students are welcome to attend, but also any curious soul wishing to know more about TU Dresden and IIT (ISM) work in the field. It will also be an opportunity to discover world-class research facilities as both institutions have been recognized for their research structures.
